The Y (B) 331C semi-automatic twist tester is a specialized instrument used to evaluate the twist properties of fibers twisted together to form yarn. These properties affect the strength, appearance, elasticity, and performance of the yarn and fabric.

This twist testing machine functions by precisely measuring the twist per unit length in different yarns. The targeted yarn is securely clamped at both ends, and the instrument exerts a controlled twisting force, keeping the changes occurring in the yarn structure. Using a highly advanced digital control system, the machine determines the exact point where the fibers become parallel. This indicates the original twist level. The digital system then determines shrinkage, twist count, and elongation, giving precise data.
